The Tulane Foundation was established at the impetus of US researchers for the purpose of continuing work in Romania including the Bucharest Early Intervention Project, which was successfully implemented from October 2000 with Romanian NGO support.

The Tulane Foundation was registered as a Romanian NGO in September 2003, named in honor of Tulane University, New Orleans, USA.

The founding members are:

Prof. Florea Iordachescu – Director of Marie Curie Peadiatrics Hospital, Bucharest, Romania.
